Any role needing cheap Magic Resistance, especially frontliners and carries facing an AP lane or fed mage.

Good against

Strong against AP burst, repeated magic poke, and magic-heavy lane opponents; gives nothing against physical damage.

When to buy it

Early defensive stopgap or mid-game build component; finish the appropriate MR item if the magic threat remains important.
