Nilah Jungle Wild Rift Guide

Nilah jungle counters include Kha'Zix, Hecarim, and Rammus. See the best build, runes, matchups, and game plan for Wild Rift Patch 7.3.

How to play

  • Farm toward your first items Clear camps between ganks and avoid early fights where enemies can keep you at range.
  • Use your dodge against basic attacks Your 2nd ability lets you dodge basic attacks. Save it for an enemy marksman or fighter who is about to hit you.
  • Follow your team into grouped enemies Use your 3rd ability to dash close, then your ultimate to pull enemies together when teammates can follow up.

Strengths

  • Hyperscaling duelist who heals through long fights and only gets scarier the longer the game runs.
  • Jubilant Veil (2nd) dodges basic attacks and blunts magic damage, so the burst meant to delete her often does far less than expected.
  • Her ultimate is a real teamfight starter, dragging a whole clump together for her team to clean up.

Weaknesses

  • Weak, slow early clear and a single-pull gank kit make her a non-threat before her items arrive.
  • Short melee range means hard crowd control and disengage can wall her off the targets she needs to reach.
  • If she falls behind, her lifesteal and crit never stack, leaving a melee carry with nothing to scale into.

Nilah Jungle Counters

Who counters Nilah Jungle in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Nilah in the jungle matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.

  • Kha'Zix: Kha'Zix hunts isolated targets, and early you are one: his leap burst can chunk you before Veil (2nd) matters, and his evolved reset lets him leave any trade you start.
  • Hecarim: Devastating Charge (3rd) outpaces Nilah's Slipstream (3rd) and knocks her away when she finally reaches melee range, while Onslaught of Shadows (Ult) fears her out of Apotheosis (Ult). Jubilant Veil (2nd) blocks attacks, not either displacement, so it cannot protect her committed entry.
  • Rammus: Defensive Ball Curl (2nd) turns your crit swings into damage on yourself, and his taunt forces you to keep hitting the spikes; even Veil (2nd) cannot strip the taunt off you, and he is a tank built to profit from your attacks.

Champions Nilah Is Strong Against

Nilah's best matchups in Wild Rift. Nilah holds an edge against these picks in the jungle role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.

  • Master Yi: You both scale, but you win the comparison: your lifesteal heals through his on-hit damage, Veil (2nd) dodges the burst window Alpha Strike (1st) opens, and he has no answer to your dash out of a losing trade.
  • Warwick: Jubilant Veil (2nd) dodges the attacks his suppression sets up, though the suppress itself has to be avoided rather than cleansed, so Warwick needs that one lockdown to land clean, and your lifesteal outlasts his drain the longer the fight runs.
  • Nocturne: Nocturne commits everything to one dive, and Veil (2nd) is a strong answer: ride out his ultimate behind the damage reduction and he has nothing left, while your sustain outlasts his single-target burst.

Early Game

Treat the first clear as survival, not a race. Start on the side that lets you path toward a safe scuttle attempt, take your sustain seriously, and use Jubilant Veil (2nd) to eat a camp's burst rather than wasting it. Contest scuttle against junglers you out-duel and give it up to the predators who would just kill you on the crab. Your ultimate arrives with the clear and the crab, and it is a pull into your own dueling rather than a chain of crowd control, so the ganks worth walking for are the ones where the enemy is already shoved in and low. Otherwise clear, take the camps as they respawn, and get to your items. Do not get caught invading: this is your weakest stretch, and a single death delays the only thing you care about.

Mid Game

Nilah needs teammates around her when the first objectives force a close-range fight. Arrive at dragon or Herald with your team, because your pull and sustain make you the best bridge between the two backlines in a contested pit. Contest when your team is ahead on early fights, and when it is even take Herald, since it converts without needing you to win a long fight you are still building toward. A team that wants soul is the reason to flip that. Between objectives, power-farm and start invading the junglers you out-scale, stealing camps and forcing duels once your crit healing is online. Spend Veil (2nd) on a dangerous basic-attack window or incoming magic damage; it does not protect you from a spell-based stun, root, or knockup.

Late Game

Late game is Nilah's whole reason for existing. Critical strikes supply both damage and Joy Unending (Passive) healing, while Formless Blade (1st) converts critical-strike chance into armor penetration for tankier targets. Around Baron, Apotheosis (Ult) threatens to pull a clump together and heal Nilah's nearby allies from every damaging hit. Stop farming for its own sake and group up, because a fed Nilah beside her team gets much more value from that shared healing and from extending Jubilant Veil (2nd) to the nearest ally.

Teamfights

Your job is to reach a carry and stay alive while your sustained damage works through the fight. Open with the ultimate when the enemy clumps, pulling their backline into your team, then ride your lifesteal through the chaos as you heal off every target you hit. Veil (2nd) is the line between a great fight and a dead Nilah: hold it for the stun, root, or burst combo meant to delete you, and dash through it instead. You want to be unkillable in the middle of the fight, not picking at the edges, because your whole identity is sustaining through damage that should have killed you. Use the pull to drag a fleeing carry back into range and let the healing win the fight on sustain.
