Ahri Mid Lane Wild Rift Guide
Who counters Ahri in Wild Rift? The toughest Ahri mid lane counters are Syndra, Zed, and Fizz. Full Ahri Mid Lane counters and matchups, plus the best build, runes, and game plan for Patch 7.2c.
Overview
Ahri is a mid laner who fights on her own terms or not at all. Her charm is the core of the kit: land it and the target is forced to walk toward you, unable to dash away, and slowed, while your orb, missiles, and three Spirit Rush dashes turn that one mistake into a kill. Miss it and you are a squishy mage with no kill threat until it comes back. She wins games by roaming and snowballing. She is not a hard-shove control mage and not a long-range poke mage. She is a pick threat with a built-in escape: shove the wave, slip to river or a side lane, charm someone out of position, and leave before help arrives. Her burst is real but it needs the charm to land first, so the skill is patience and finding angles. In Wild Rift she grows into a reliable mid-game assassin-mage who kills one key target and dashes away from the answer. Her weakness is that she is all-or-nothing and squishy. The charm is a skillshot, and against a kit that can dodge it or out-range her, she has no backup plan and very little durability. Mobile assassins out-trade her, hard scalers out-grow her, and anyone who sidesteps the charm gets a free window on her.
Strengths
- Great roamer with a built-in escape: three Spirit Rush dashes let her snowball the map and leave cleanly after every pick.
- One landed charm sets up a full burst combo that kills most squishy mids outright.
- Safe and slippery in lane, with orb sustain and dashes that punish failed ganks.
Weaknesses
- Everything depends on the charm: dodge it and she is a squishy mage with no follow-up until it returns.
- Squishy with conditional burst, so tanky or high-mobility mids simply refuse the fight she needs.
- Falls behind hard scalers if her early roams produce nothing, since her own late game is not the strongest.

Ahri Mid Lane Counters
Who counters Ahri Mid Lane in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Ahri in the mid lane matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.
- Syndra: She out-ranges your poke, her stun is point-and-click once set up, and her combo kills you faster than yours kills her, so the lane itself is a loss even though you roam better.
- Zed: His shadows give him the mobility to chase your dashes, and he all-ins your squishy frame the moment your charm is on cooldown.
- Fizz: Fizz hops over your charm with his E, wasting your only setup tool, and once his ultimate is online his dive beats your kite.
- Kassadin: Early he is weak to your charm pressure, but once his ultimate is up he blinks out of your burst, silences your combo, and out-scales you completely.
Champions Ahri Is Strong Against
Ahri's best matchups in Wild Rift. Ahri holds an edge against these picks in the mid lane role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.
- Lux: Lux is immobile and telegraphed: once her binding misses she has no escape from your dash-in burst. Only her early poke is a real threat.
- Ziggs: Ziggs out-ranges your poke but has no mobility, so he cannot stop you from dashing the gap once he misses a spell, and he cannot follow your roams.
- Vel'Koz: He out-ranges every spell you have and his knockup combo hurts early, but he has no escape and a squishy frame, so closing the gap once ends him.
- Aurelion Sol: His early levels are weak and he only becomes a problem if left alone to stack, so your charm pressure and roams beat him long before he scales.
Early Game
Play the early lane around setting up the charm, not around long trades. Push with the orb to hold priority, chip with the missiles, and heal off the orb's return. Look for charm angles that actually connect: into a wall, a step before they juke, or right after their dash goes on cooldown. You out-sustain most mages thanks to the orb's heal, so a patient poke war favors you, but do not throw the charm into a full wave and hope. Track the enemy jungler, because a charm landed during a gank kills one of the two attackers and usually scares off the other.
Mid Game
Once your first item and ultimate are online, your job shifts from laning to roaming. Shove the wave hard, then leave. A Spirit Rush over the wall into river wins your jungler's scuttle fight, and a charm from a brush onto the enemy mid or a side laner is worth more than any minion you skipped. Use mid priority to reach dragon or herald early and start the fight before the enemy mage has even cleared their wave. The pattern is always the same: clear the wave, find someone out of position, charm, burst, dash out, and be gone before the counter-gank arrives. A roaming Ahri who lands two picks decides the map.
Late Game
By late game you are a flank assassin with a guaranteed escape. Stay off the front line, hold the edges of the fight, and wait for the charm that is worth committing to: their carry stepping too far, their mid mistiming a dash, anyone away from peel. When it lands, use the full combo and take the Spirit Rush charges back out through a wall before their team turns on you. Your damage kills one squishy, not five people, so a clean entry and a clean exit is your whole contribution. The Ahri who charms the right target and survives wins the fight; the one who charms the tank dies for nothing.
Teamfights
Pick one target and ignore the rest of their team. Wait on the flank while their crowd control gets used on your frontline, then come in from the side: charm the carry, drop the orb and missiles, and use the Spirit Rush charges to reposition mid-combo before you leave. The ultimate is both your engage and your exit, so never spend all three dashes going in; keep at least one for the way out. You are not the initiator and not the zone control. Your job is to remove their carry, so angle and timing matter more than bravery. A charm on the right person ends the fight before it starts; a charm on the tank does nothing.
