Kalista Dragon Lane Wild Rift Guide

Kalista Dragon lane counters include Tristana, Lucian, and Draven. See the best build, runes, matchups, and game plan for Wild Rift Patch 7.3.

How to play

  • Keep moving between attacks Move after each basic attack to hop while attacking. Use these hops to stay out of reach and keep hitting the same enemy.
  • Save Rend (3rd) until it can finish a target Attacks leave spears in enemies. Use your 3rd ability to pull them out when it can finish a target or slow someone trying to escape.
  • Use your ultimate with your partner Pull them out of danger or let them start a fight when your team is ready.

Strengths

  • Martial Poise (Passive) gives her repeated short hops to dodge skillshots and create space from melee threats.
  • Rend (3rd) stacks turn long fights into large finishing hits, with a cooldown reset and mana refund when the active kills any target.
  • Her ultimate turns the support into an engage or a save no other duo can copy.

Weaknesses

  • Immobilization, grounding, and polymorph stop or knock down her Martial Poise (Passive) dash, while attack-speed slows reduce her attack and hop frequency.
  • Fate's Call (Ult) and Soul-Mark require the Oathsworn within tether range, though Kalista's personal attack and Rend (3rd) damage remain available when the ally roams.
  • Very demanding to play: her damage rides almost entirely on attack speed and clean rhythm.

Kalista Dragon Lane Counters

Who counters Kalista Dragon Lane in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Kalista in the Dragon lane matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.

  • Tristana: Tristana's jump lands faster than your hops can escape, and her burst and bomb out-trade you once she arrives. Your mobility is sideways, not away, so her direct dive ignores it.
  • Lucian: Lucian's burst rotation lands inside one hop cycle, faster than your stacks can answer, and his mid-game spike punishes your hop pattern harder than any other lane bully.
  • Draven: Draven's axes hit harder than your spears stack, and his early all-in ends trades before your stacks build up. This is the one bully your mobility does not answer.

Champions Kalista Is Strong Against

Kalista's best matchups in Wild Rift. Kalista holds an edge against these picks in the Dragon lane role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.

  • Ezreal: His whole kit is skillshots and your hop-weave is built to dodge exactly that, so your spears keep stacking while his poke keeps missing. The safest carry in the game is not safe here.
  • Kog'Maw: Martial Poise (Passive) hops around Void Ooze (3rd) and lets Kalista stack spears while Kog'Maw is immobile, but Bio-Arcane Barrage (2nd) reverses the damage race once his items arrive. Pressure every early Barrage (2nd) cooldown, use Rend (3rd) before he retreats to artillery range, and convert the lane lead before Living Artillery (Ult) makes repeated approaches too expensive.
  • Sivir: Her Spell Shield (3rd) blocks one spell, and your damage is a hundred small hits. Between boomerang cooldowns she has no answer to your hop-weave trades.

Kalista Dragon Lane Synergies

The best duo partners for Kalista in the Wild Rift Dragon lane role. The Dragon lane is a 2v2, so queue with one of these picks to make the lane and the mid game much easier.

  • Thresh: The classic Fate's Call (Ult) partner: he engages from your ultimate with hook and box waiting on the landing. His lantern also covers the aggressive hops your passive demands.
  • Rakan: You toss him in with Fate's Call (Ult), he lands Grand Entrance (2nd) on the whole duo, and you clean up around the knockup. Two mobile kits that reward the same aggressive tempo.
  • Braum: Your rapid autos stack Concussive Blows (Passive) almost instantly, turning every trade into a stun. Fate's Call (Ult) plus his slows and wall make your all-in nearly unkiteable.

Early Game

Trade early and collect spears. Your hop-weave wins long trades against most duos because half their answers miss a target that never stops moving. Stack spears through the exchange and Rend (3rd) when the math turns lethal. Coordinate your ultimate with your support: a launched engage at level five catches duos who thought the lane was quiet. Respect crowd control above everything, because one stun is the only way most lanes can hold you still long enough to kill you.

Mid Game

Attack speed items create more attack windups, hop opportunities, and Rend (3rd) stacks. Around dragon, remember Rend (3rd) deals only 50% damage to epic monsters; it can still secure an objective in range through terrain, but calculate the reduced damage. Keep the Oathsworn within tether range when Fate's Call (Ult) may be needed, and coordinate the ally-controlled launch before starting a play.

Late Game

If your rhythm holds, weave along the fight's edges, stack spears into whatever your team focuses, and Rend (3rd) at the moments that matter. Hold Fate's Call (Ult) as a safety net when the Oathsworn is within tether range, and coordinate whether the ally should launch back in or disengage. Position most carefully around roots, stuns, grounding, and polymorph, which directly stop Martial Poise (Passive); attack-speed slows reduce her output and hop frequency without disabling the dash by themselves.

Teamfights

Weave at the fight's edge, putting spears into the closest safe target while Martial Poise (Passive) repositions each attack. Rend (3rd) when its damage secures a kill, triggers a reset, or wins an objective rather than spending all stacks too early. Fate's Call (Ult) can retrieve the Oathsworn, but that ally; not Kalista; chooses the launch location and can knock enemies back on arrival. Immobilizing or polymorphing Kalista during a hop knocks her down, so do not dash predictably into crowd control.
