Braum Support Wild Rift Guide
Who counters Braum in Wild Rift? The toughest Braum support counters are Zyra, Karma, and Janna. Full Braum Support counters and matchups, plus the best build, runes, and game plan for Patch 7.2c.
Overview
Braum is the support who blocks damage with his own body. He stands between your carry and everything trying to kill them, raises his shield to block the first projectile from any direction, and forces the enemy duo to spend the whole lane looking for a way around him. His 2v2 is about slowly building stun stacks. Winter's Bite chips and slows from range while marking the target, and once enough marks land (from his poke or his carry's autos) the target gets stunned, which is how a calm lane turns into a kill. Stand Behind Me leaps him onto your ADC with a shared shield, Unbreakable blocks hooks and poke from one direction, and Glacial Fissure throws up a wall of ice that knocks up whoever it catches and blocks off the rest. What he cannot do is fight from a distance or carry a lane with his own damage. He is short ranged, his stun needs setup to come online, and a duo that pokes from outside his reach chips him down without a clean answer.
Strengths
- His shield blocks the first projectile from any direction, stopping hooks, poke, and engage casts before they reach your carry.
- Elite peel: he leaps onto his ADC with a shared shield, soaks dives, and walls off the enemy with his ult.
- His slowing poke and stacking stun turn any extended trade into lockdown his carry can finish.
Weaknesses
- Short effective range, so a poke duo that fights from outside his reach chips him and his carry down freely.
- His stun needs setup: the marks must stack first, so the lockdown vanishes if his poke and his carry's autos cannot connect.
- Modest sustain early, and disengage or kiting can blunt his engage, leaving a tanky body with nothing to lock onto.

Braum Support Counters
Who counters Braum Support in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Braum in the support matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.
- Zyra: Her plants and skillshots fill the lane with more damage sources than one projectile block can answer, and she zones you off the wave from a range you cannot reach.
- Karma: Karma pokes harder than you and shields her carry through your slow, blunting both halves of your kit, while her empowered bolt chunks you before you reach mark range.
- Janna: Her tornado and ult knock your whole commitment back out, peeling exactly the all-in your kit builds toward, so a clean 2v2 into her is a stalemate at best.
- Lulu: Polymorph shuts off the engage your kit lives on, her pix poke chips you all lane, her shields blunt the stun trades your passive builds toward, and Wild Growth knocks your engage away right as it lands.
Champions Braum Is Strong Against
Braum's best matchups in Wild Rift. Braum holds an edge against these picks in the support role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.
- Blitzcrank: His entire lane is one grab, and your shield blocks it, leaving a slow melee body with no lane control while the hook sits on cooldown.
- Thresh: Your shield eats Death Sentence, and once the hook is denied the rest of his kit has little threat, since his pairing needs a caught target to all-in and you refuse to be caught.
- Pyke: A squishy melee engage who needs his hook and his all-in to function, and you out-tank both, so nobody on your side ever ends up isolated enough for him to reset on.
- Nautilus: His hook is a projectile your shield denies, and his engage walks straight into the frontline brawl you want, so denying one throw removes his pairing's whole opener.
- Leona: She has to walk into you to start anything, which is the brawl you were built for: her engage lands on your shield and your peel instead of your ADC.
Braum Support Synergies
The best duo partners for Braum in the Wild Rift support role. The Dragon lane is a 2v2, so queue with one of these picks to make the lane and the mid game much easier.
- Lucian: His double-shot passive stacks Concussive Blows faster than any carry in the game: every short trade ends in your stun. The lane bullies from level one.
- Jinx: You are the wall her hyper-carry dream needs: Unbreakable eats the dive burst, your stun peels, and a protected Jinx with resets ends games on her own.
- Kog'Maw: Classic bodyguard duty for the biggest late-game payoff: slow and stun everything that approaches, raise the shield, and let the artillery behind you erase the map.
Early Game
Chip the enemy duo with Winter's Bite when it will not shove your wave too hard, and pair every cast with your carry's autos so the stun stacks keep climbing. When a target is one stack from the stun, that is your engage window: walk up, land the stun, and let your ADC turn it into a real trade. Save Unbreakable for the moment that matters, the hook or the spell that would chunk your carry, because blocking it for free flips the whole exchange. Hold your dash as a peel tool, not a flashy entry, since leaping forward without follow-up just tells both junglers you are out of position.
Mid Game
As lanes loosen, your kit matters across the whole dragon side of the map. Set deep vision around dragon and the river before your team commits, because your slow poke and ult turn a contested pit into a fight your side wins on positioning. Roam only when your carry is safe and the wave is shoved, and look for picks on anyone crossing the river without vision: a stacked mark plus your ult wall cuts a target off from help entirely. When herald or dragon goes live, you are the first line of defense. Soak the opening engage on your shield and save Glacial Fissure to start the fight on a clump or wall the enemy off the objective.
Late Game
Late game you are a full time bodyguard. Stay glued to your carry, keep the shield ready for the dive everyone can see coming, and use your dash to put your body between them and the threat the instant a flanker commits. Your ult is now a fight ender: a well placed ice wall either splits their team in half at the choke or knocks a diver up and away from your backline. Do not chase and do not duel, because your damage was never the point. An alive Braum standing in front of an alive carry is the whole contribution, and a Braum who walked forward for a kill usually gave up the frontline his team needed.
Teamfights
Pick your wall placement before anything else, because Glacial Fissure decides where the fight is allowed to happen. Open by knocking up the enemy engage or walling their backline off from yours, then stand between their damage and your carry with the shield facing whoever is firing. Your dash is a reactive save: when a diver leaps at your ADC, leap onto your carry, share the shield, and let the dive bounce off both of you. Keep chipping the nearest target so your stun stacks stay active, since a stun landing in the middle of a teamfight buys your team a free kill. You are not there to deal the damage; you make sure the people who do never get touched.
