Lulu Support Wild Rift Guide

Who counters Lulu in Wild Rift? The toughest Lulu support counters are Alistar, Leona, and Nautilus. Full Lulu Support counters and matchups, plus the best build, runes, and game plan for Patch 7.2c.

Overview

Lulu is the support who turns your carry into a problem the enemy cannot solve. Glitterlance pokes a slowing line through the lane, Whimsy either buffs your ADC's attack speed and movement or throws a bubble that polymorphs an enemy so they cannot cast anything, and a bubble that misses stays on the ground for anyone careless enough to walk through it, Help Pixie gives a shield and a speed trail, and Wild Growth drops bonus health and a knockup onto whoever the enemy just tried to kill. Her whole job is refusing to let the carry die. In the Dragon lane she pokes and peels. Early she chips the enemy duo with Glitterlance and buffs your ADC into trades they win for free. Once her shield and polymorph are online, she becomes the answer to every all-in: someone jumps your carry, and you turn their engage into a wasted cooldown with a frog and a wall of health. The catch is that she has exactly one save at a time. Polymorph stops one threat, her ultimate rescues one ally, and she herself is slow, squishy, and has no escape. One committed diver she handles well; two threats, or a hook that catches her first, beat her.

Strengths

  • Top-tier single-target peel: polymorph shuts down one diver while Wild Growth pulls the carry back from a death in progress.
  • Strong lane poke that doubles as a buff, chipping the enemy duo while Whimsy turns your ADC's trades into easy wins.
  • Makes a fed carry nearly unkillable by stacking shield, attack speed, and a bonus-health ultimate onto one target.

Weaknesses

  • One save at a time: polymorph and her ultimate each answer a single threat, so a double commit overwhelms her.
  • Immobile and fragile with no escape, making her an easy mark for hooks and dives when she steps up to poke.
  • Her peel is mostly reactive, so if the enemy kills her first, the carry she protects is suddenly alone.

Lulu Support Counters

Who counters Lulu Support in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Lulu in the support matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.

  • Alistar: His combo chains past your single polymorph, and once he ults he shrugs off the crowd control your peel relies on, so one save cannot answer his whole engage.
  • Leona: Leona brings more lockdown than one polymorph can cancel, and her chained stuns hold your carry still long enough for her ADC to finish the job even if you interrupt one piece.
  • Nautilus: Hook, knockup, and a root that triggers off his autos give him more engage tools than you have saves, and each one lands on a champion with no way to dodge.
  • Thresh: Thresh layers hook, flay, and box, three engages when Whimsy stops one, and his lantern pulls his partner out of the very pick your polymorph creates.

Champions Lulu Is Strong Against

Lulu's best matchups in Wild Rift. Lulu holds an edge against these picks in the support role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.

  • Yuumi: While attached she only adds a shield and some chip, every detach window leaves her open to your poke, and your carry-enabling is simply stronger than hers.
  • Janna: In a straight lane you out-poke her, and your Whimsy buff wins the trades her shield only softens. Her peel is soft disengage while yours removes one threat completely.
  • Milio: Both of you enable a carry, but a landed polymorph is the one button that interrupts his key cast, so his cleanse or speed play never happens.
  • Morgana: Morgana's whole lane is one binding, and Lulu holds two answers to it: a shield before it lands or Whimsy on the follow-up, so without a bind that sticks Morgana has no all-in.
  • Pyke: Pyke has to dive a champion built to cancel dives: a Whimsy that catches him mid-commit turns his dash and stun into wasted cooldowns, and your shields and Wild Growth keep allies above the health his ultimate needs.

Lulu Support Synergies

The best duo partners for Lulu in the Wild Rift support role. The Dragon lane is a 2v2, so queue with one of these picks to make the lane and the mid game much easier.

  • Jinx: The canonical Lulu pairing: shield and speed her through lane, break the dive with Wild Growth, and watch a fed Jinx chain resets across the map.
  • Kog'Maw: Protect-the-Kog is your job description: Whimsy his kiting, shield the burst, and Wild Growth him mid-fight so the shredder outlives the dive.
  • Yunara: She scales exactly the way your kit protects: shields through the weak phase, Whimsy for spacing, and a knockup that saves the hyper-carry the enemy must dive.

Early Game

Play the early lane as a poke enchanter who also enables all-ins. Glitterlance the enemy duo whenever they stack on the wave, and use Whimsy as a trading tool: the attack speed and movement burst win short exchanges, or you can hold the polymorph for whoever steps too far forward. You have no escape, so ward the river before you walk up to harass, because every poke also tells the enemy jungler exactly where you are standing. Win the lane by harassing constantly with the slow and winning every trade your carry takes.

Mid Game

Mid game your peel becomes a roaming threat. Push the wave, then walk with your ADC to dragon or herald setups and flip the skirmish: polymorph a face-checking enemy, shield your carry through poke, and hold Wild Growth for the moment their engage commits. Pixie's speed trail gets your duo to the objective faster than expected, and a single polymorph can swing a contested pit by removing one player for its whole duration. Keep vision deep around the objective so nothing flanks the carry you are glued to.

Late Game

Late game you are pure peel with an emergency button. Stick to whichever carry the enemy wants dead most, shield them through poke as fights approach, and hold both polymorph and your ultimate for the assassin or diver who commits. Wild Growth is a fight-saving cooldown, not an opener: the bonus health and knockup are best spent the instant your carry eats the burst meant to kill them. Their survival matters more than yours, so stand where your carry can reach you and everyone else cannot.

Teamfights

Your job is keeping one person alive through everything. Pick the carry who will win the fight, pre-shield them, then watch for the engage: land Whimsy on the diver as they commit so their combo is wasted, and drop Wild Growth the moment the focus lands, since the knockup scatters the dive and the bonus health buys time. When no threat is incoming, Whimsy your ADC for the attack speed, because the buff is also a damage boost. You answer exactly one threat at a time, so figure out which one actually matters and spend your saves on it, not the first scary thing you see.
