Samira Dragon Lane Wild Rift Guide

Samira Dragon lane counters include Draven, Miss Fortune, and Ashe. See the best build, runes, matchups, and game plan for Wild Rift Patch 7.3.

How to play

  • Follow your support into a fight Wait for their stun or knockup before moving into close range.
  • Mix attacks and different abilities Build your style until your ultimate becomes available.
  • Wait for dangerous stuns before using your ultimate Your 2nd ability destroys nearby enemy projectiles. Use it against dangerous shots, then cast your ultimate after enemies have used the stuns that could interrupt it.

Strengths

  • Style resets and Inferno Trigger (Ult) give her strong cleanup after the enemy's main control spells are spent.
  • Blade whirl (2nd) deletes projectiles, blocking key poke and even ultimates mid-flight.
  • Great with engage supports: allied crowd control extends her combo and feeds her style meter.

Weaknesses

  • Style-dependent: without her meter she is just a short-ranged carry with no all-in.
  • Hard crowd control ends her whole combo.
  • Her dive range makes her easy to focus, and she threatens nothing when behind on gold.

Samira Dragon Lane Counters

Who counters Samira Dragon Lane in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Samira in the Dragon lane matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.

  • Draven: Draven's axes out-trade your style-building phase, and at even gold his early all-in beats yours. Your teamfight cleanup out-scales his lane pressure if the game stays close.
  • Miss Fortune: Her bounce poke chips you on the way in, her ultimate punishes the clustered brawls your kit wants, and she out-trades you until items even things out.
  • Ashe: Every auto Ashe lands slows you, so the dash-and-brawl pattern you need gets kited apart before you reach her. Your whirl blocks her Volley (2nd) but does not remove the slow applied by her basic attacks.

Champions Samira Is Strong Against

Samira's best matchups in Wild Rift. Samira holds an edge against these picks in the Dragon lane role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.

  • Varus: Varus is immobile artillery, and your whirl can erase his root mid-flight, so once you dive him he has no way to keep the fight at range.
  • Kai'Sa: Kai'Sa wants to trade at range and dash out, but your dash reaches her first, your whirl blocks her missiles on the way in, and up close your combo out-damages her weak early game.
  • Jhin: Jhin has no escape and reloads after four shots, so your dive catches him helpless, and your whirl spins away the root he needs to peel you off.

Samira Dragon Lane Synergies

The best duo partners for Samira in the Wild Rift Dragon lane role. The Dragon lane is a 2v2, so queue with one of these picks to make the lane and the mid game much easier.

  • Rell: Every knockup she lands extends through your passive launcher, chaining CC while you build style. Her engage starts the exact melee chaos your kit feasts on.
  • Alistar: Headbutt (2nd) into Pulverize (1st) keeps enemies airborne for your passive to extend, and his dive tanks the tower while you stack style to S rank in the chaos.
  • Nautilus: Chain CC from hook to ult holds enemies inside your Flair (1st) range, and his engage commits fights hard enough that Inferno Trigger (Ult) hits everything at once.

Early Game

Build Style through short trades, using the gun at range and the blade only when the enemy cannot punish the closer position. Let allied crowd control create the dash target rather than entering first. Blade Whirl (2nd) destroys hostile non-turret projectiles that enter its area during the cast, so save it for the key projectile that would stop the all-in. At level five, track every control spell that can interrupt Inferno Trigger (Ult) before committing to the extended fight.

Mid Game

Your first items and an engage support turn river skirmishes into strong cleanup windows. Clear the wave before rotating, build Style from the edge of the fight, and dash only after allied control creates a target. At six minutes, Herald is usually the stronger even trade. Dragon becomes attractive when your composition can keep forcing grouped fights toward soul, since clustered enemies give Samira better Style and Inferno Trigger (Ult) access. Track the control spells that can interrupt the ultimate before committing to the pit.

Late Game

Late game, play the first seconds like a short-range carry and the final seconds like a reset champion. Build Style with different attacks and abilities while allied engage draws control, then dash toward a wounded target only when a takedown or safe exit is likely. Blade Whirl (2nd) should remove the projectile that stops your entry or protects the ultimate channel. Inferno Trigger (Ult) can restore substantial health through clustered enemies, but Grievous Wounds, hard crowd control, and burst still punish a cast made in the middle of five ready champions.

Teamfights

Build Style from the edge with alternating attacks and abilities, keeping Wild Rush (3rd) for the target whose takedown can refresh it. Enter after the enemy spends the control that interrupts Inferno Trigger (Ult), and use Blade Whirl (2nd) against the most important incoming projectile rather than as a routine Style step. Cast the ultimate where several wounded enemies are in range and allied pressure prevents them from simply focusing Samira. If S rank arrives before the safe opening, hold it and keep attacking instead of treating the meter as a command to dive.
