How to play
- Keep farming while looking for nearby fights Attack after your abilities to make use of your stronger follow-up hits.
- Use your mist to approach unseen Use your 3rd ability to spread mist along a wall and hide inside it. Approach from the side, then use your 2nd ability to stun the enemy.
- Help secure the first takedown Attack the soul left by an enemy you helped kill to heal and take their basic abilities. Use your ultimate to leave that body when you need your own abilities back.
Strengths
- Every kill fuels him: possessing a corpse heals him, resets his cooldowns, and hands him a borrowed kit.
- Excellent sustained skirmishing, with ability marks, double-strike attacks, healing, and a charged stun for the first takedown.
- His ultimate executes low targets and instantly triggers a possession, making him a relentless backline diver once a fight starts.
Weaknesses
- His whole snowball needs that first kill: deny him corpses and disengage cleanly, and the possession chain never starts.
- No real escape on a melee frame, so once his ult and W (2nd) are spent he gets kited and bursted.
- An ordinary first clear and telegraphed charged stun can leave him behind when faster junglers control the opening river fights.

Viego Jungle Counters
Who counters Viego Jungle in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Viego in the jungle matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.
- Rammus: Rammus reflects your attacks back at you and taunts you into the trade, and killing him is so hard that your passive rarely finds a corpse to possess.
- Skarner: Ixtal's Impact (3rd) can wall-stun Viego before his first reset, while Impale (Ult) suppresses him and can catch the teammates he needs to start a possession chain. Grouping for the first takedown risks giving Skarner a multi-person ultimate.
- Taliyah: Taliyah keeps you off the corpse your kit needs: an empowered Threaded Volley (1st) from Worked Ground can slow your approach, Seismic Shove (2nd) throws you back when you close, and her poke chips you down before you can land a kill.
Champions Viego Is Strong Against
Viego's best matchups in Wild Rift. Viego holds an edge against these picks in the jungle role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.
- Kha'Zix: Kha'Zix gets one leap-in combo, and your sustain outlasts it while your Q (1st) keeps refreshing, so his squishy frame loses the extended brawl he never wanted.
- Lee Sin: Lee Sin's pressure is all front-loaded, and once his combo is spent you out-sustain him in the long fight his fading damage cannot win.
- Xin Zhao: Xin Zhao hits hard with his three-talon combo, but he only has one rotation, and your stun plus resets win the drawn-out fight once his early spike fades.
Early Game
Aim to finish the full clear healthy rather than chasing a record time. Path through camps with the ability-mark into double-strike rhythm, and send Harrowed Path (3rd) into nearby terrain so its mist spreads around the wall and conceals your approach. Take scuttle at the end, which puts you on level five, and Viego is worth fighting for a crab when his cooldowns and health favor the brawl. With that done, hunt the first gank while your camps respawn: approach outside enemy vision, charge Spectral Maw (2nd), and remember its accompanying dash cannot cross terrain. Let the stun plus your marked attack hand your laner an easy takedown, because an early Mist Wraith can start a possession chain that snowballs the map. If you find the enemy jungler alone at a camp, that is your best fight: land the charged stun, earn a qualifying takedown, and consume the resulting Mist Wraith when it is safe.
Mid Game
Viego wants an objective skirmish where one realistic takedown can unlock the first possession. Contest whenever your team is ahead on early fights. When it is even, take Herald and trade dragon away, unless your team can hold the fights soul is worth. Between objectives, cast Harrowed Path (3rd) toward river terrain so the mist wraps the wall, then use its camouflage and movement speed before attacking. Ambush an isolated target only when allies can help secure the takedown, then check the enemy jungler and lane priority before starting the objective. Invade when the enemy jungler shows on the far side and nearby lanes cannot collapse. Keep farming between real skirmish windows instead of waiting in mist for a target that may never arrive.
Late Game
You are not a side laner late; you are the cleanup threat in every grouped fight, so stay with your team and look for a way to reach a wounded squishy. Hold Heartbreaker (Ult) until its most-wounded target selection and missing-health damage can secure a takedown, then consume the Mist Wraith to heal and borrow that champion's basic kit. Possession preserves Viego's current health percentage rather than protecting a separate body, so choose forms and exits carefully. Vision around Baron and the dragon pit decides these fights, so ward the flanks and let Harrowed Path (3rd) hide your approach before you commit.
Teamfights
You join the fight second, not first. Let your frontline commit, watch for the first health bar to drop, then ult in, execute, and possess the corpse so your cooldowns reset and you keep fighting on someone else's kit. Every takeover heals you and hands you a fresh ultimate, which is how a fed Viego kills an entire team one body at a time, so always target whatever is already low instead of the tank. Save your W (2nd) to peel a diver off your carry or to lock the target you are about to execute, and use the E (3rd) brush to flank the backline from an angle their support is not watching. The whole job is the chain: one clean kill should become the next one, and the next, until nobody is left to possess.
