Morgana Jungle Wild Rift Guide
Who counters Morgana in Wild Rift? The toughest Morgana jungle counters are Lee Sin, Kha'Zix, and Rengar. Full Morgana Jungle counters and matchups, plus the best build, runes, and game plan for Patch 7.2c.
Overview
Morgana is a control jungler who turns one binding into a kill and one shield into a stolen teamfight. Her clear runs on Tormented Shadow, a pool of magic damage she drops on a camp and leaves ticking while she moves to the next, so she farms at a comfortable pace without brawling the monsters. The rest of her kit is for people: Dark Binding is a long root, Black Shield puts a bubble on an ally or herself that eats the next crowd control, and Soul Shackles chains everyone near her and stuns them if they cannot get away in time. She wins by deciding whether a fight happens at all. Early on, her threat is the bind: a gank into a pushed lane is a root, a pool on their feet, and a laner walking up to finish. She is not a duelist and her clear is not fast, so the opening minutes are about landing that one skillshot and farming safely between attempts. Once she has her first item and her ultimate, she becomes a control engine: root the carry, shield her own out of the enemy's engage, chain a whole huddle into a stun. The catch is everything that one skillshot implies. Miss the bind and Morgana has no dash, no follow-up, and no way to force a fight; she is a slow, squishy body holding a cooldown. Fast early predators eat her in exactly that gap, so her whole game is a bet on landing the root and surviving until her utility decides the map.
Strengths
- Black Shield is the best anti-engage button in the role, eating a key gank or pick and wasting the enemy's fight-starter.
- Her bind and her ultimate give two layers of hard lockdown, removing the enemy's most important body from a fight.
- A low-effort clear lets her farm to her item spike without ever needing to win a duel.
Weaknesses
- Everything hinges on one skillshot: miss the bind and she has no mobility and nothing to fight with.
- She is slow and fragile, so mobile early junglers run her down before her utility comes online.
- Her solo kill pressure stays low all game, so a bad early leaves her farming for relevance instead of carrying.

Morgana Jungle Counters
Who counters Morgana Jungle in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Morgana in the jungle matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.
- Lee Sin: Lee Sin wins scuttle, invades, and snowballs while your kit is still one skillshot, and his dashes let him hop past your bind angle and kick you out of your own setup.
- Kha'Zix: Kha'Zix hunts exactly what you are early: a lone, fragile jungler. He leaps over your bind and wins the 1v1, the counter-gank, and the invade before your control matters.
- Rengar: Rengar's brush leap one-shots a slow, squishy jungler who needs to land a skillshot to do anything, and he is on top of you before a shield or a bind matters.
Champions Morgana Is Strong Against
Morgana's best matchups in Wild Rift. Morgana holds an edge against these picks in the jungle role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.
- Amumu: Amumu is all crowd control, so Black Shield blanks his game: the bandage toss that starts every gank and the ultimate that wins every fight both die on one bubble, and he is too immobile to do anything else.
- Skarner: Black Shield eats Skarner's suppression clean, turning his one real kill button into a wasted cooldown, and your bind locks the slow tank down before he can find another engage.
- Vi: Point-and-click engage is exactly what Black Shield punishes: shield Vi's target and her ultimate, knockup, and gap-close all land for nothing, leaving a bruiser with no follow-up.
Early Game
Your first clear is steady, not fast, so take the full path and let it end near a gankable lane. Take scuttle if you can get it safely, since it brings you to level five and Soul Shackles, but do not race a real early jungler to the crab, because you lose most of those fights without a root landed first. The gank is your whole early game, and the camp respawn timer is when you go looking for it: come in from an angle they are not watching, bind the target into your laner, drop the pool under them, and let the lane finish while you walk back to the camps. If a teammate is getting dove, a well-timed Black Shield blanks the enemy's engage and flips the skirmish. Track the enemy jungler closely, because a Morgana caught mid-clear with her bind down has no way out of a counter-gank.
Mid Game
Six minutes brings both objectives and your ultimate turns a messy pit brawl into a stun your team converts for free. Set vision early at dragon and Herald and use the threat of a bind to make the enemy jungler nervous about facing the pit alone. Contest when your team is ahead on early fights, and when it is even take Herald, since it cashes in without needing a won teamfight. Play for dragon and soul instead when your team actually wants those fights. Between objectives you out-utility most slow farmers: shield a teammate through their gank and turn it around, or chain an invading duo with your ultimate. Keep clearing between plays so you stay on the item curve, since your value is the cooldowns you bring to a fight.
Late Game
Late game your job is control, and your damage is the least interesting thing about you. Your solo kill pressure has not improved, so stop hunting picks alone and use your tools: a bind on the carry who steps forward, a shield on your own carry the moment the enemy assassin commits, and a chained stun when the teams collide. Black Shield wins late games on its own by eating the one piece of crowd control a fight is built around. Around Baron and Elder you are both the disengage and the lockdown: root the initiator before they reach the pit, or shield the teammate they were about to delete. Patience is the skill here. Hold your bind for the body that matters, because a root wasted on a tank is a fight handed back.
Teamfights
You are the controller: you either start the fight with a pick or decide it by blanking theirs. The clean opener is a bind on a priority target that your team folds onto before the root ends, with your pool dropped underneath. Soul Shackles is your engage and your zone at once: walk or flash into the cluster, chain everyone, and force them to scatter or eat the stun, which buys your carries a free damage window. The button that actually wins the fight is Black Shield. Read the enemy's engage, find the ally they are about to lock down, and bubble them just before the crowd control lands, because an engage that hits a shielded target achieves nothing. Never spend your bind on the frontline just because the fight started; hold it for the carry, the assassin, or the initiator.
