Pantheon Jungle Wild Rift Guide

Who counters Pantheon in Wild Rift? The toughest Pantheon jungle counters are Rammus, Nunu & Willump, and Shyvana. Full Pantheon Jungle counters and matchups, plus the best build, runes, and game plan for Patch 7.2c.

Overview

Pantheon is a jungle bully built to make the first ten minutes miserable and cash the lead in before the enemy scales. His spear hits from range or stabs up close, Shield Vault leaps onto a target and stuns it, and Aegis blocks the attacks and abilities that punish other melee junglers for diving, though turret shots still land through it. None of it scales into a late-game monster, and that is the point: he wants the game decided while his early kit is still the scariest thing on the map. He wins by turning tempo into kills. His clear is quick and Aegis eats the camp damage, so he reaches his first gank early. A Shield Vault stun into his spear combo usually kills, and from there he presses the lead into towers, dragons, and the enemy jungle. Grand Starfall lets him drop into a fight two lanes away, so one snowball spreads across the whole map. The catch is the timer. He is frontloaded burst with no real sustain, and once enemies stack some health and resistances his damage stops deleting anyone. Lose the early skirmishes and there is no scaling plan to fall back on.

Strengths

  • Brutal early ganker: his stun-leap and burst combo often kill outright before laners have items to survive it.
  • Aegis lets him ignore camp damage and skirmish from the front, though it will not save him from tower aggro.
  • Grand Starfall projects pressure across the map, turning one lead into fights won in other lanes.

Weaknesses

  • Falls off hard once enemies build health and resistances, with no scaling or sustain to stay relevant late.
  • His burst is frontloaded and short-ranged, so one missed Shield Vault leaves him with no follow-up.
  • Tanky farm junglers outlast his window, kite him, and scale into a game he cannot reach.

Pantheon Jungle Counters

Who counters Pantheon Jungle in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Pantheon in the jungle matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.

  • Rammus: His armor eats your physical burst, Defensive Ball Curl turns your spear combo back on you, and his taunt locks you down the moment you commit. He only gets tankier as the game runs.
  • Nunu & Willump: Stacked health means your burst cannot finish him, his knockup interrupts your dive, and he snowballs objectives while your closing window expires.
  • Shyvana: Her tankiness and sustain survive your all-in, and once dragon form and her items arrive she wins on raw stats against a Pantheon past his window. She only needs to reach her spike.

Champions Pantheon Is Strong Against

Pantheon's best matchups in Wild Rift. Pantheon holds an edge against these picks in the jungle role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.

  • Evelynn: Evelynn has almost no fighting power before her charm combo comes online, and your level-three stun-leap kills her fragile early frame before she can stealth away.
  • Zed: Zed needs items before he can one-shot anyone, and your level-three burst arrives long before his does. Aegis blocks his shuriken poke, and his squishy frame cannot trade back into your stun-leap.
  • Kha'Zix: You out-trade him in the exact early window he is supposed to own: Aegis blocks the spike that opens his combo, and your stun-leap bursts his fragile frame before his evolutions come online.

Early Game

Your first clear is fast because Aegis soaks the camp damage. Path toward the lane you want to gank and arrive at level three with everything up, since a spear poke into a Shield Vault stun usually kills any laner standing too far forward. Pantheon is one of the few junglers whose early gank is genuinely worth breaking the clear for. Otherwise the rhythm is the same as everyone's: finish the rotation, take scuttle for level five, then gank while the camps respawn and clear them as they come back. Contest scuttle, because your point-blank burst wins most early jungle duels, and an invade on a slower-clearing enemy around their second buff is nearly free if a lane can back you up.

Mid Game

Six minutes is your prime, so spend it. Force a fight at every objective spawn while you are still the strongest body in a skirmish, and take the towers your ganks crack open. Grand Starfall doubles your reach: drop into a fight across the map to finish a weakened target or add a surprise extra body at a contested pit. Contest both objectives when your team is ahead, and in an even game take Herald, since your falloff means a tower now is worth more than a soul point later. Between objectives, keep counter-jungling the enemy who cannot fight back and look for picks on anyone walking through river without vision. Every kill and objective you take now covers for the late game where you fall off.

Late Game

By late game you are no longer the deadliest champion in the fight, so stop playing like you are. Your spear only chunks a carry now, and a single defensive item on the enemy backline blunts your whole plan, so play for picks instead of straight brawls. Use Grand Starfall as a flank or a fast rotation to outnumber a lane and force an objective before the enemy carries take over, and use your stun to start fights your scaled teammates finish. If you arrive here even, you needed to already be ahead, so the real lesson is to bank a lead before the game gets this far.

Teamfights

Your job is to reach the enemy carry and shut them down, not to trade in the front line. Look for a flank or a Grand Starfall angle that puts you next to their backline, then Shield Vault the highest-value target, stun them, and dump your spear combo before their team can peel. Aegis is what keeps you alive on the way in, so use it against the burst and crowd control aimed at you when you commit. If their carry is too well protected, do not throw yourself away: hold your leap, use the stun to peel a diver off your own carries, and poke with your spear until an opening appears.
