Twisted Fate Mid Lane Wild Rift Guide
Twisted Fate mid lane counters include Zed, Fizz, and Kassadin. See the best build, runes, matchups, and game plan for Wild Rift Patch 7.3.
How to play
- Farm and keep your mana available Use your 2nd ability to cycle through cards and press it again to choose one: blue restores mana, while gold makes your next attack stun.
- Push before using your ultimate Look for an exposed enemy in another lane instead of leaving a large wave at your tower.
- Arrive with a gold card (2nd) ready Choose gold with your 2nd ability before teleporting. Use your next basic attack to stun an enemy your teammate can reach.
Strengths
- Destiny (Ult) globally reveals targetable enemy champions, then Gate (Ult) can blink Twisted Fate alone to a location within Gate's (Ult) cast range after a 1.5-second channel.
- Point-and-click gold card (2nd) is reliable lockdown with no skillshot to miss, setting up picks and starting fights.
- Strong waveclear and push from Wild Cards (1st) plus stacked autos, so he holds mid priority and decides when the map opens up.
Weaknesses
- Squishy with no dash or escape, so any assassin or all-in that closes the gap before the stun lands simply kills him.
- His lockdown needs setup mid-fight: he has to cycle to the gold card (2nd), and a mistimed cycle leaves him with nothing.
- Lane damage is modest until items, and the stun's cooldown means a missed pick window costs real tempo.

Twisted Fate Mid Lane Counters
Who counters Twisted Fate Mid Lane in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Twisted Fate in the mid lane matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.
- Zed: He out-trades you with shurikens, then all-ins your squishy frame the moment his ultimate is up, and nothing in your kit stops him from jumping you on cooldown.
- Fizz: Playful (3rd) Trickster (3rd) dodges your gold card (2nd) on reaction, which strips the one tool the matchup depends on, and his burst kills you before you cycle a second card.
- Kassadin: Riftwalk (Ult) answers your whole plan: once it is online he blinks out of your gold card (2nd) and beats your roams with a shorter-cooldown blink, and he only gets stronger from there.
- Morgana: Black Shield (3rd) blocks your gold card (2nd) outright, removing the one tool that locks a target for your burst or your gank, and her bind roots your escapeless frame for trades you cannot walk out of.
Champions Twisted Fate Is Strong Against
Twisted Fate's best matchups in Wild Rift. Twisted Fate holds an edge against these picks in the mid lane role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.
- Norra: A roam race you win on map presence: Destiny (Ult) reveals every targetable enemy champion globally, then Gate (Ult) can move you within its finite cast range while Norra has to rotate on foot.
- Akali: Destiny (Ult) reveals Akali even inside Twilight Shroud (2nd), denying the invisibility she uses to reposition. Gold Card (2nd) can then punish a predictable dash arrival, but the shroud itself is not a cooldown-reset mechanic.
- Vex: Twisted Fate does not dash during ordinary lane trades, so he does not create free Gloom (Passive) marks. Mistral Bolt (1st) and Looming Darkness (3rd) are telegraphed, but Personal Space (2nd) is immediate and Shadow Surge (Ult) is a real dash; win through map pressure while tracking whether Doom (Passive) is prepared.
- Ziggs: Ziggs shoves and pokes from range, while Mega Inferno Bomb (Ult) can affect fights within its 5,000-unit cast circle. Twisted Fate still roams more directly because Destiny (Ult) reveals targets globally and Gate (Ult) can blink him within its own finite range.
Early Game
Use Red Card's (2nd) area hit and Wild Cards (1st) to clear, Blue Card (2nd) to restore mana, and Gold Card (2nd) for gank setup or defense. Prime three Stacked Deck (3rd) stacks before locking a card so the empowered attack carries both effects. During safe farm windows, activate E (3rd) and attack repeatedly because every hit rolls Loaded Dice (Passive) for extra gold, extending the passive income gained whenever Twisted Fate kills an enemy.
Mid Game
Shove, lock Gold Card (2nd) before traveling, then cast Destiny (Ult) to reveal all targetable enemy champions. After at least 0.5 seconds, recast Gate (Ult) and channel for 1.5 seconds to blink within its cast range. Only Twisted Fate moves, so select a landing position where allies can follow and enemies cannot immediately interrupt or punish the arrival. The reveal can also expose stealth or verify an objective even when no Gate (Ult) cast is safe.
Late Game
Push the mid or side wave when Destiny (Ult) is available and the next Baron or Elder setup leaves time to rejoin. Use Destiny (Ult) for global information, then choose a Gate (Ult) landing inside Gold Card (2nd) range and allied follow-up. The spell moves only Twisted Fate, so do not arrive behind the enemy formation alone. If no safe river pick exists, use the reveal to check flankers or the objective and return to the team for a front-to-back fight.
Teamfights
You start the fight and lock down the target; you are not the frontline. The ideal opening is Destiny (Ult) revealing a flank or an out-of-position carry, then a blink, a gold card (2nd), and your team folding onto the target before they react. Once the fight is live, cycle to gold for the most dangerous threat you can reach, fan Wild Cards (1st) across their cluster, and let Stacked Deck (3rd) add up on your autos from the backline. Position like the squishy you are, because the moment a diver reaches you, the stun is the only thing between you and a quick death, and a gold card (2nd) spent on a tank instead of their assassin wastes the one tool your team was waiting on.
