Darius Jungle Wild Rift Guide

Who counters Darius in Wild Rift? The toughest Darius jungle counters are Lillia, Kindred, and Nidalee. Full Darius Jungle counters and matchups, plus the best build, runes, and game plan for Patch 7.2d.

Overview

Darius is an early brawling jungler who turns prolonged contact into a lethal advantage. Attacks and damaging abilities apply Hemorrhage, and reaching five stacks grants Noxian Might. Decimate supplies area damage for camps, Crippling Strike resets his attack and slows a target, and Apprehend pulls enemies back when they try to leave. Noxian Guillotine deals true damage that increases with Hemorrhage stacks and can reset when its target dies at the right moment. Jungle removes the oppressive lane phase that normally defines Darius, but it gives him access to more fights and better approach angles. He clears toward lanes with reliable setup, contests melee junglers in the river, and uses Ghost to stay close long enough to build five stacks. His ganks are strongest when an ally has already forced the target to spend a dash or walk away from safety. The weakness is still mobility. Darius has no natural dash, and walking directly into a lane rarely works against targets with vision and an escape ready. If the early map stays quiet, faster farming junglers reach their item spikes while ranged carries gain enough damage and movement to keep him outside Apprehend range.

Strengths

  • Strong early dueling against junglers who must fight him in melee.
  • Hemorrhage and Noxian Guillotine can turn one successful gank or objective fight into several kills.
  • Decimate gives him area clear and valuable healing when enemy champions collapse on his position.

Weaknesses

  • Ganks lack an instant gap closer unless he buys Stridebreaker or spends Flash.
  • Ranged junglers can poke, kite, and cross walls before he reaches five Hemorrhage stacks.
  • Needs early fights and objectives to matter before enemy carries gain enough damage and mobility to keep him out.

Darius Jungle Counters

Who counters Darius Jungle in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Darius in the jungle matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.

  • Lillia: Lillia builds movement speed while clearing and can keep Darius outside Apprehend range with repeated Blooming Blows. Do not chase her through open jungle; force fights in a pit or narrow entrance, use Ghost after she commits close, and keep Smite available for the slow when she tries to create space.
  • Kindred: Kindred attacks from outside Darius's range, hops away from Apprehend, and can use Lamb's Respite to deny a lethal Noxian Guillotine. Contest marks with lane priority instead of arriving alone, hold the ultimate until the zone ends, and use Apprehend after Dance of Arrows rather than before it.
  • Nidalee: Nidalee clears quickly, crosses walls, and weakens Darius with Javelin Toss before he can begin an extended fight. Ward her approach, avoid entering objectives at low health, and fight around closed terrain where Ghost and Apprehend can punish her after Pounce is spent.

Champions Darius Is Strong Against

Darius's best matchups in Wild Rift. Darius holds an edge against these picks in the jungle role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.

  • Amumu: Amumu has to enter Darius's preferred range to deal damage, and his early dueling is weaker before defensive items. Invade only with lane priority, space Decimate so the outer blade lands after Bandage Toss, and save Noxian Guillotine until Hemorrhage has raised its true damage.
  • Fiddlesticks: Darius can pressure Fiddlesticks before Crowstorm controls objective entrances, and Apprehend interrupts Bountiful Harvest when Darius reaches him. Track vision before invading, pull him out of the drain, and keep Ghost for the chase after Terrify creates distance.
  • Shyvana: Shyvana wants uninterrupted farming and has no hard control to stop Darius in an early river fight. Contest her camps only when nearby lanes can move, hold Apprehend until she tries to leave, and convert the early advantage before Dragon Form and completed items improve her teamfighting.

Early Game

Start with Decimate and position the outer blade through as much of each camp as possible. Weave attacks and Crippling Strike between casts instead of cancelling them by moving too early. Clear toward the lane with the best crowd control or the enemy most likely to push, because Darius needs help creating the first contact. At scuttle, fight melee junglers when your nearby lanes can move first. Begin with attacks and Crippling Strike, then hold Apprehend for their retreat rather than opening with the only tool that brings them back. Against a ranged jungler, do not cross the river without priority just because Darius wins a close fight. If no gank or invade is clearly available, finish the clear and protect your tempo.

Mid Game

Play around Dragon and Rift Herald before enemy carries become difficult to reach. Darius is strongest when the opposing jungler has to enter a fixed area, since the pit removes much of the space normally used to kite him. Establish vision first, stand between the enemy and the objective, and save Smite for the secure rather than spending it only to trigger Nimbus Cloak. Between objectives, approach lanes through fog and let an ally start when possible. Once a target spends its escape, use Ghost, apply Crippling Strike, and hold Apprehend until the pull prevents the final step back to safety. Convert kills into camps, towers, or neutral objectives instead of chasing a second target across the map.

Late Game

Darius cannot start every late fight by walking through five enemies. Stay near the teammate who can engage, then enter after important control and movement spells have been used. Hit the nearest safe target until Noxian Might is active, then pressure the backline with full Hemorrhage stacks and look for a lethal Noxian Guillotine. Around Baron and Elder, control entrances rather than disappearing into a side lane. Apprehend can pull an enemy away from the pit edge, but Darius still relies on Smite to secure the objective. If the enemy composition can kite him indefinitely, protect your carry with Apprehend and punish the diver who has already entered your range.

Teamfights

Use Ghost before Hemorrhage stacks begin falling off, not after the target has already escaped. Start on the closest champion you can hit safely, land the outer edge of Decimate for damage and healing, and use Crippling Strike between attacks. Apprehend should stop an escape, interrupt a channel, or peel a diver rather than add damage to a target already trapped beside you. Track health and Hemorrhage together. Noxian Guillotine has no fixed execute marker, so cast it when its current stack-scaled true damage is lethal or allied damage will finish the target inside the reset window. One correct reset can decide the fight, while an early ultimate leaves Darius with no reliable way to finish the next target.
