Darius Baron Lane Wild Rift Guide
Who counters Darius in Wild Rift? The toughest Darius Baron lane counters are Jayce, Urgot, and Wukong. Full Darius Baron Lane counters and matchups, plus the best build, runes, and game plan for Patch 7.2c.
Overview
Darius is the most straightforward threat in the Baron lane: anyone who walks into his axe range dies. His bleed builds toward Noxian Might, which adds huge bonus damage to everything he does, and his ultimate is a true damage execute that resets on a kill. That reset is how one enemy mistake turns into a chain of kills. In lane he is dominant. The outer edge of Decimate heals him based on how hurt he is, Apprehend drags escapees back in with built-in armor penetration, and Crippling Strike slows anyone trying to leave. Most melee laners cannot even last-hit without stepping into his range. His weakness is just as simple: no dash, no jump, and no answer to a champion who refuses to fight him. Every Darius game comes down to whether his early dominance wins the game before the enemy team learns to stay away from him.
Strengths
- Dominant early laner who bullies almost any melee matchup and can even fight two opponents at once.
- Snowballs harder than anyone: the execute reset turns one won fight into a chain of kills.
- Strong sustain in long trades thanks to the healing on his outer axe swing.
Weaknesses
- Immobile and easily kited: ranged laners and disengage can keep him out of the fight entirely.
- Falls off as the game goes long and scaling carries stop needing to stand near him.
- Vulnerable to ganks, since he plays far forward and has no escape tool.

Darius Baron Lane Counters
Who counters Darius Baron Lane in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Darius in the Baron lane matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.
- Jayce: He pokes from a range you cannot answer and knocks you back whenever you finally get close.
- Urgot: His shotgun trades out-damage your bleed at the edge of your range, his shield blunts your burst, and once you drop low his execute threatens you instead.
- Wukong: The clone and dash slip your pull, so he only takes the fights he wants: he bursts in, drops the decoy when you commit, and leaves before your bleed matters.
- Dr. Mundo: Regen and a huge health pool outlast your bleed, the cleaver chips you before you ever land a clean pull, and his ultimate lets him walk away from your all-in.
Champions Darius Is Strong Against
Darius's best matchups in Wild Rift. Darius holds an edge against these picks in the Baron lane role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.
- Garen: You win the extended brawl because your bleed and healing beat his regen and burst in any long trade.
- Yasuo: Windwall does nothing against your kit, his shield breaks on one Q edge, and the bleed kills him before his crits matter; he is only dangerous in the middle of a big minion wave.
- Sion: A perfect bleed target: big, slow, and stacked with health, and his zombie passive cannot catch anyone who walks away from it.
- Shen: Shen has no kill pressure on you and loses the brawl: his block shrugs off your autos for a moment, not your bleed or your pull, though his dash answers your engage with a taunt of its own.
Early Game
This is your strongest phase. Look for a trade whenever the enemy steps up for a last hit: pull with E or walk them down, hit the outer edge of Q for the heal, and let the bleed stack while W keeps them in range. Once the bleed is high, your ult kills from health totals that surprise people. If they hug their tower, freeze the wave just outside yours and starve them, since they cannot walk up to a frozen wave without dying. Just watch the enemy jungler: everyone knows where you are, and you cannot run.
Mid Game
Turn lane dominance into map dominance before enemy scaling erodes it. Shove and force Rift Herald fights, where your pull and execute turn a messy skirmish into a reset chain. With your first items you are sticky enough to actually catch people, so look for picks on anyone crossing river without vision. Your power compared to theirs peaks here, so play with urgency; the advantage shrinks every minute you spend passive.
Late Game
You will not outrun anyone, so stop trying. Play around your team's engage and arrive second: once the enemy spends their cooldowns on your frontline, walk in, pull the most dangerous target you can reach, and start the execute chain. Your E is also great peel, pulling a diver off your carry and into your whole team. Stay relevant by executing low-health targets, not by chasing enemies you will never catch.
Teamfights
You are a zone, not an assassin. Stand between their divers and your carries, or follow your engage into the middle of their team. Pull the highest-value target in reach, slow them with W, and swing Q at max range so the heal keeps you standing. Watch every enemy health bar: the moment someone drops into execute range, the resets start, and Darius mid reset chain is the scariest champion in the game.
