Yone Baron Lane Wild Rift Guide
Who counters Yone in Wild Rift? The toughest Yone Baron lane counters are Riven, Fiora, and Sett. Full Yone Baron Lane counters and matchups, plus the best build, runes, and game plan for Patch 7.2c.
Overview
Yone fights with two swords and a spirit form. Soul Unbound sends his spirit forward to fight while his body stays behind, and when the spirit snaps back, enemies caught in the return path take extra damage. It is an assassin engage with a built-in escape. His damage is split between physical and magic, so no single defensive stat stops him: half his damage always gets through. Mortal Steel stacks toward a dashing knockup, Spirit Cleave gives a shield and sustain, and his ultimate holds everything in a line in the air for follow-up. His early game is weak and squishy, and every lane bully plans around it. Yone games are about surviving that phase, then taking over with a kit that scales into one of the most flexible divers in the game.
Strengths
- Soul Unbound is a dive with a built-in escape: commit fully, then snap back to safety.
- Mixed physical and magic damage is very hard to itemize against.
- Scales into an elite skirmisher with a knockup, a shield, and a team-wide ultimate.
Weaknesses
- Weak early game that bullies and strong duelists punish hard.
- His body is exposed while the spirit is out, and good enemies attack where it stands.
- Item-dependent: when behind on gold, he deals very little damage.

Yone Baron Lane Counters
Who counters Yone Baron Lane in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Yone in the Baron lane matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.
- Riven: Riven's combo bursts you between your stacked Qs and her mobility matches your spirit form, so she controls the lane until your items even out the duel.
- Fiora: Vitals and a held parry punish your squishy early game, and even after your items arrive she still wins the duel if your entry is sloppy.
- Sett: Sett wants you in punch range and your kit keeps taking you there: his grit stores your damage and returns it as true damage, and his pull catches the spirit's return path.
- Renekton: Renekton peaks exactly when you are weakest: his empowered stun interrupts your combo, his fury burst out-trades your early Qs, and his dash answers your spirit-form entries. Your scaling flips the duel later.
- Jayce: Jayce pokes you down before your dashes connect and his knockback resets your spirit-form entry, punishing an early game you are already weak in. He falls off as you scale.
Champions Yone Is Strong Against
Yone's best matchups in Wild Rift. Yone holds an edge against these picks in the Baron lane role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.
- Sion: Sion is a big, slow target for your spirit form, and half your damage ignores the armor he stacks by default, so you out-scale his health pool.
- Gnar: Mini Gnar needs distance to kite, and your spirit form closes that gap with a snapback escape if the trade goes wrong. His kit fades while yours keeps scaling.
- Dr. Mundo: Mundo is a giant health pool with no way to catch a champion who dashes and snaps back, and half your mixed damage ignores the resistances he never buys.
- Kayle: Kayle's early melee form has no answer to your dashes and stacked Q poke, so you can bully her off every wave. She only becomes dangerous if she survives to her late-game form.
Early Game
Accept a rough early game. Farm with Q, stack toward the third-cast knockup so you pick your trades, and let Spirit Cleave's shield absorb the chip damage in between. Be careful with Soul Unbound: the spirit fights, but your body stays vulnerable, and sending it into a bad spot loses lanes. Against bullies, give up ground and take what farm you can; your items fix the lane later.
Mid Game
Your first items change everything. The Q-E all-in now does real damage, your mixed damage punishes whatever defenses they built, and the snapback gives you a guaranteed exit no other diver has. Take side-lane duels and look for picks where the spirit can enter from angles a normal champion cannot. Remember the return trip damages everyone it passes through. Fights you start with a knockup usually end before the snapback.
Late Game
You are a backline diver with a guaranteed way out. Start fights in spirit form: surge in, knock up the carry, ult the line when their team groups, and snap back before the counterattack reaches your body. Your mixed damage means nobody on their team itemized correctly against you. The one thing to watch is exit timing: overstay the spirit window and you are stuck in a losing fight.
Teamfights
Enter from the flank and leave on time. The ultimate holds everything in a line in the air, so save it for their carries or layer it onto a teammate's engage. Spirit form is your fight window: surge through, burst the squishiest target you can reach, and let the snapback damage cover your exit. If their crowd control is still available, wait. Your kit is built around picking the moment, and the moment is after their key spells, not before.
