Ornn Support
Ornn support counters include Braum, Morgana, and Janna. See the best build, runes, matchups, and game plan for Wild Rift Patch 7.3A.
How to play
- Use the lane walls for your engage Your 1st ability creates a pillar, and charging into it or a wall with your 3rd ability knocks enemies up. Engage only when your carry can follow.
- Turn Brittle into a longer catch Finish your 2nd ability on the enemy to apply Brittle, then consume it with an attack or immobilizing effect. Leave if the carry cannot reach the fight.
- Set up both passes of your ultimate Send the ram through enemies, then meet and redirect it toward the target your team can damage. Keep room to recast safely.

Strengths
- Several layers of crowd control make committed duo-lane fights dangerous for the enemy.
- Defensive scaling keeps tank items useful on a support budget.
- Remote purchases can save recalls between objective windows.
Weaknesses
- Slow engage sequences are vulnerable to interrupts and disengage.
- Ranged poke can remove the health needed to commit before level 5.
- Support experience delays level-based benefits compared with solo-lane Ornn.
Why this build
The quest item, Yordle Trap and Dawnshroud prioritize useful control and affordable durability before luxury health stacking. Ornn can enable a carry immediately after a catch without waiting to complete an expensive solo-lane build. Choose later defenses for the opposing damage and healing, and keep the carry's item timings ahead of optional support purchases.

Situational choices
Do not automatically copy the Baron lane Heartsteel rush on support income. Buy useful control and resistances first. Frozen Heart answers attack speed, Force of Nature answers repeated magic damage, and Gargoyle Stoneplate is a late option for surviving concentrated focus.

Ornn Support Counters
Who counters Ornn Support in Wild Rift (WR)? These champions beat Ornn in the support matchup, with how each one wins. Learn to play around them or ban them in ranked.
- Braum: Braum can intercept Ornn's ultimate projectile with his shield, denying the clean two-pass engage the lane wants. Track the shield cooldown and change the angle or wait it out rather than sending the ram through a prepared Braum.
- Morgana: Morgana can protect the intended target from Ornn's control with her spell shield, and a binding can prevent the ram recast. Ask allies to break or draw out the shield, then engage from an angle that does not expose Ornn to the root.
- Janna: Janna can interrupt Ornn's forward charge or push him away from the returning ram, disrupting his control sequence. Use the first ultimate pass to draw out defensive spells, and keep a safe recast position instead of charging through her team.
- Lulu: Lulu can disable Ornn before a recast and use her ultimate's knockup to protect the carry after the first engage. Force one defensive cooldown before committing every spell, and retain your charge for the next approach if the opening is denied.
- Zyra: Zyra can root Ornn during his predictable approach and wear down his health with ranged spell damage before he reaches terrain. Keep the wave playable, avoid charging through a prepared plant zone, and engage with your jungler from a second angle.
Champions Ornn Is Strong Against
Ornn's best matchups in Wild Rift. Ornn holds an edge against these picks in the support role, so look to press the advantage and contest objectives.
- Leona: Leona's committed entry gives Ornn time to apply Brittle and layer a terrain knockup while his carry attacks safely. Stand off your carry's exact position and save the charge for the committed fight rather than using it for minor poke.
- Nautilus: Ornn can answer Nautilus's close-range hook commitment with a Brittle trade and a knockup near terrain. Let the enemy front line come into range, then control the carry's approach instead of chasing Nautilus away from your own damage dealer.
- Alistar: Ornn's breath can resist displacement during its active window, making a predictable Alistar knockback harder to convert. Time it for the committed approach and hold your terrain charge for the follow-up after Alistar spends his main combo.
- Blitzcrank: Pulling Ornn close can give him a useful melee angle if his carry is in position to punish the enemy's follow-up. Do not deliberately take every hook; preserve health, threaten a Brittle trade, and protect the carry when Blitzcrank instead walks around the wave.
- Rell: Rell's committed engage places her beside a tank who can answer with Brittle and multiple knockups. Spread from your carry, then use Ornn's control to split the enemy follow-up rather than allowing Rell to gather both of you into one engage.
Ornn Support Synergies
The best duo partners for Ornn in the Wild Rift support role. The Dragon lane is a 2v2, so queue with one of these picks to make the lane and the mid game much easier.
- Yasuo: Ornn supplies repeated knockup opportunities for Yasuo's ultimate and can keep the enemy occupied after Yasuo enters. Coordinate the first airborne window rather than both waiting for the other to commit.
- Samira: Ornn's control gives Samira a target to follow while he absorbs the initial response. Keep the fight close enough for her damage instead of spending every spell on a distant enemy.
- Miss Fortune: Ornn's slows and knockups can hold enemies inside Miss Fortune's ultimate firing area. Start from an angle that leaves her a safe channel position and reserve control for enemies attempting to interrupt her.
- Varus: Varus can connect his root to Ornn's control chain while attacking from behind the tank. Either champion can start the catch, leaving the other's ultimate to extend it rather than overlapping both immediately.
- Xayah: Ornn keeps enemies near Xayah's feathers and gives her time to set up the return root. His defensive knockups are especially valuable when she needs to keep attacking a diver after her ultimate.
Early Game
Use the support quest to help last-hit without taking unnecessary poke. Position beside a wall or threaten a pillar angle with Volcanic Rupture (1st), then commit only if the carry is close enough to attack. Bellows Breath (2nd) applies Brittle at the end of the breath, so do not charge away before the setup lands. Forge only when it is safe to channel and remember that buying an item does not refill missing health or mana.
Mid Game
Move with your jungler after the duo wave is safe and establish a clear ultimate line through the river. Ornn's remote purchases can help maintain map presence between fights, but support experience means those level-based opportunities arrive later than in Baron lane. Ward with allies, because being durable does not make a blind walk into five enemies worthwhile.
Late Game
Keep a safe place to meet the returning ram when your team approaches Baron or Elder. Track enemy projectile shields and interrupts before starting the engage. Living Forge (Passive) provides normal purchases at normal cost, not stronger item upgrades; use it to preserve map time between objective windows.
Teamfights
The first pass of Call of the Forge God (Ult) sets up the redirected knockup, so position for both rather than firing it as isolated poke. Follow with a terrain knockup or a Brittle-consuming attack when the first control expires. If your carry is being dived, turn the same sequence toward the diver instead of leaving the backline unprotected.
